Creating opportunities for our youth
My vision for Orangeville places a strong emphasis on empowering our youth. I believe in creating robust opportunities for success through work, sport, and social engagement. It is crucial that we lead by example, involving young people in leadership roles that prepare them for their future. By utilizing government grants for various projects, we can expand these initiatives without placing additional burdens on taxpayers.
Promoting safe and engaged communities
Building safe, engaged communities, neighbourhoods, and businesses is central to my vision. When we support each other and buy local, everyone thrives. I am committed to exploring new opportunities for growth, leveraging the tools and facilities already at our disposal. My experience with youth activities has shown me the importance of providing positive outlets and building strong relationships, which directly contributes to safer and more connected communities.
Accountability and transparency
Representational and fiscal accountability and transparency are paramount. Decisions made by council significantly impact our community members, and open, constant communication about these decisions is essential. We need to encourage greater community involvement in town meetings and forums, leading and inspiring residents to participate in shaping our shared future. By fostering a climate of trust and openness, we can ensure that Orangeville is governed responsibly and effectively.
